Student Employment
On-Campus Employment is available to all students at TLU. Students may apply for the jobs of their choice, keeping in mind their skills, interests and class load. Working on campus allows a student to begin building a resume while attending classes. Employment earnings may be used to cover the costs of tuition, room and board, or books and personal expenses.
Federal Work Study (FWS) is based on need and is funded by federal and university dollars. FWS may be a part of the financial aid award package at TLU. Typically, an average FWS award is $1,500, which means a student can work about 10 hours a week earning minimum wage ($6.55/hour). Off-campus community service opportunities are also available.
Texas College Work Study (TCWS) is similar to the Federal Work Study program, with the exception that funds may only be awarded to residents of the state of Texas.
