  • Animal Advocacy

    A no-kill animal shelter. The shelter is almost entirely volunteer run and could use all the help they can get.

    • help care for the animals (usually in the AM)

    SARA (Southern Animal Rescue Association)


    A nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter.

    • There are no paid staff, SARA is in need of volunteers to assist with various shelter-related activities
    • Coordinate an end of semester drive to collect unwanted items for resale in support of the shelter

    • Seguin Animal Services provides public animal services for the City of Seguin.
    • The shelter is always in need of volunteers to help care for and interact with animals, and also help with facility cleaning and events.

    Habitat for Humanity

    Habitat for Humanity raises funds and builds houses for local families. Builds about one house a year. Work days generally occur on Saturday, from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

    Our Lady of Guadalupe Food Pantry

    Our Lady Food Bank receives donated food for distribution to the community. Volunteers usually sort food items into bags at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.

    Steve's Pantry provides emergency food, clothing, laundry, and showers to those in need. They are open Monday and Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m and Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.. If you'd like to volunteer, please contact info@grueneumc.org to talk about training and available shifts.

    Burges Alternative School

    Burges is an Alternative School for Seguin students who have struggled with disciplinary issues. The students attend Burges anywhere from 10 to 35 days. Volunteers help with group mentoring during school days.

    DARE stands for Drug Awareness Resistance and Education. The DARE officers go into elementary schools and works with students to educate them about drugs, violence, and alcohol. Besides teaching the awareness of drugs abuse to school students. The program also hosts several events such as Halloween Safe House, National Night Out, 5K Moonlight Run,Blue Santa, Dare Graduations, Cops & Kids Picnic and the Cinderella Ball.

    Jill's House invites children with intellectual disabilities (ages 6-17) to have an unforgettable two-night camping experience. Since it can often be difficult for parents of these amazing kids to find activities built with the abilities of their children in mind, they provide an opportunity for kids to experience camp in a safe, exciting environment- their very own Weekend Adventure. Volunteers are needed to help with facilitating the camp, be buddies to the campers, lead activities, and help campers perform activities to the best of their abilities.
