Procedure to Graduate
- A formal application for the degree must be submitted on a Degree Application form to the registrar in the semester prior to which the student plans to graduate. (Fall semester for prospective May graduates and Spring semester for prospective August and December graduates)
- The student is responsible for fulfilling the degree requirements for a particular degree as outlined in the catalog under which the student is graduating and to register in accordance therewith.
Graduation with Honors
To be recognized as an honor graduate, the student must achieve the following cumulative grade point average:

| Cum Laude | 3.50 - 3.74 |
| Magna Cum Laude | 3.75 - 3.89 |
| Summa Cum Laude | 3.90 - 4.00 |
Graduation with honors is determined by the cumulative grade point average of at least 45 hours of coursework at Texas Lutheran University. (Students with less than 45 hours in residence at Texas Lutheran are not eligible for graduation with honors.)
