Apply to the International Student Program
An international student is any citizen of a country other than the United States who needs a nonimmigrant visa to study at the university.
The merits of each applicant are considered on a case-by-case basis with a special emphasis on the quality of academic work. To qualify for admission into the academic program, a minimum score of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) paper-based exam or 213 on the computer-based TOEFL is required.
All applicants must submit the following before being considered for admission:
- A completed application for admission
- International student addendum to the application
- Official transcripts from each secondary school and, if applicable, post-secondary schools attended. These should include a listing of courses taken and grades earned. It must be translated into English.
- The completed international student financial summary. This must be verified by a financial institution with a signature, and photocopies of financial records (bank statement or letter).
- A $25 (U.S. currency) non-refundable application fee. Due to fluctuations in exchange rates, the check or money order must be drawn on a United States bank.
- Completed certificate of proficiency in English form. TOEFL scores sent directly to TLU from the educational testing service or other documentation of English proficiency deemed appropriate.
- A personal statement describing personal goals, professional objectives, and reasons for wanting to study at TLU.
