Bulldog Basics (Early Advising and Registration) is an enrollment event aimed at engaging the students with the faculty and staff at TLU to help ensure their successful transition to college.
Bulldog Basics early advising and registration is a mandatory event for all students who have paid the $200 deposit, indicating an intention of enrolling at Texas Lutheran University. Each session is limited to 110 participants.
Once you have paid your deposit, we request that you complete the Bulldog Basics Registration form. If you have any questions please contact the Office of Admissions at 800-771-8521 or

Things to do Before Attending:

- Review Helpful Registration Information:
- Let your admissions rep know if you are bringing in Dual, AP, or IB Credit.
On Your Bulldog Basics Date:
The day will include: -
Meeting with an academic faculty advisor

Completing Administrative tasks like:
- Taking your ID Picture
- Verifying your Housing choice
- Verifying your Meal Plan
- Recieving your official TLU e-mail address and anti-virus package

Signing up for the Bulldog Bulletin on-line community
- Registering for classes
You may also want to be prepared to: - Go over any financial aid issues/questions/concerns you may still have
- Take placement tests in the sciences or foreign languages if you plan to take courses in those areas
- Bring a campus map and a copy of the schedule of classes with you
