Torch Notes DMC 3/12 -- Fernando Yarrito '72 was recently promoted to Executive Director, Constituency Relations and Stewardship. He joined the Development Office at The University of Texas - MD Anderson Cancer Center in March 2001. Fernando has increased the scope of the stewardship program to encompass major gifts faculty stewardship, endowment compliance, and long term stewardship and donor recognition. In 2010, the long term stewardship program was recognized with the CASE IV Grand Award in the category of stewardship. In addition, the endowment compliance activities have been singled out twice for recognition with UTS Chancellors awards under his leadership.
Torch Notes DMC 3/12 -- Brandon Chance '03 recently moved back to the United States after spending the previous six years working in various capacities for Texas A&M University's branch campus in Qatar. In January he relocated with his wife and two sons to New Jersey where he now works at Princeton University as their chemical program safety manager.
Sarah Elizabeth Skains '12 and Andrew John Daniel Padron were married on March 2, 2013 in the Chapel at Ashelynn Manor in Magnolia, Texas. Wedding party attendants that are connected to TLU included, Maid of Honor Paige Hoffmann '12, Bridesmaids Heather Dornburg '12, Best Man and father of the groom Danny Padron who is also the Head Coach of the TLU football team, Groomsmen Kyle Ingraham, and usher Braxton Harris, both of which are assistant coaches with the TLU football team. Sarah is employed as a kindergarten teacher at Oak Creek Elementary in New Braunfels and Andy works as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at TLU. Following the honeymoon to Puerto Rico the couple will reside in Seguin.
