2013 Front Row event breaks attendance record
The 10th annual Front Row with Verne Lundquist athletic fundraiser on April 4 in San Antonio raised an estimated $100,000 and hosted 500 guests, making it the most well-attended event in Front Row history. Verne Lundquist’s evening with long-time friend, retired golf pro and fellow CBS commentator David Feherty not only brought out TLU alumni, employees and friends, it honored our nation’s heroes with a Wounded Warriors Project table sponsored by Frost Bank. TLU Alumni Board President Tom Woods ’83 also hosted a table for TLU student-athletes.
The high auction bids of Phil Dunne ’77 and Glynn Bloomquist ’76 earned them two spots in the Broadcaster of the Day experience with Lundquist during an upcoming Southeastern Conference (SEC) game in fall 2013.
Lundquist said his involvement with TLU and Front Row are experiences he values tremendously.
“I want everyone at TLU to know how much being a part of this event has meant to my wife Nancy and me,” Lundquist said. “Not only do I get to socialize with former classmates and meet new friends, it’s a very special night for alumni to give back to the school we love.”
