TLU Ranks Second on the U.S. News & World Report 2014 Best Value in the West List
Texas Lutheran University is once again at the top of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings among colleges in the Western region, ranking third overall, and second on the list for Best Value.
“The U.S. News rankings affirm what our students and alumni already know: TLU is one of the top educational values in the nation,” said TLU President Dr. Stuart Dorsey. “Texas Lutheran University delivers an education of the highest quality at an affordable cost.”
Rankings are based on data collected by U.S. News & World Report in several categories, including academic reputation, admissions selectivity, faculty resources, retention, graduation rates and alumni support. U.S. News & World Report then ranks colleges and universities in classifications based upon region and classification. TLU earns the No. 2 spot in the West for Best Value based upon its high overall ranking combined with modest net cost of attendance for a student who receives the average level of need-based financial aid.
According to U.S. News & World Report, the higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the deal. Only schools ranked in or near the top half of their categories are included, because the publication considers the most significant values to be among colleges that are above average academically.
