ALPINE, Texas – The Texas Lutheran women’s volleyball team concluded a 2-1 run at the second American Southwest Conference Cross Division Tournament with a four-game win Saturday over LeTourneau University.
At Sul Ross State’s Gallego Center, TLU defeated LeTourneau 26-28, 25-13, 25-14, 25-9.
TLU moved to 15-6 overall and to 12-4 in the ASC.
LeTourneau dropped to 6-18 overall and to 2-12 in the ASC.
Junior outside hitter Sarah Black led TLU with 15 kills on 27 attempts. Black made only three hitting errors for a hitting percentage of .444.
Senior setter Amanda Curry contributed 30 assists, six kills (with no errors), and six digs. Senior middle blocker Jamie Jahns posted 10 total blocks (seven solo block and three block assists). Freshman middle blocker Marcia Sagebiel added seven total blocks (four solo blocks and three block assists).
Of TLU’s 68 total points in the match, 18 of the points came on blocks.
Junior outside hitter Jessica Stetler served four aces and added seven kills and 13 digs. Junior libero Blair O’Brien paced the Bulldogs with 20 digs.
TLU goes to Kerrville, Texas for a 7 p.m. conference match against Schreiner University.
