Texas Lutheran Bulldog greats Richard Miller (football), Lili Torres-Ramirez (women’s tennis), Aaron Merhoff (baseball), Craig Saunders (men’s basketball) and Madeline Klasing Williams (women’s volleyball) will be inducted into the Texas Lutheran Athletics Hall of Fame during TLU Homecoming ceremonies this weekend.
TLU also will recognize its Athletics Leadership Wall of Honor Class of 2009. This year’s inductees are the Honorable Edmund Kuempel and Ken and Linda Voges.

Dr. Mark Gilbertson was recognized during Tuesday’s Texas Lutheran women’s volleyball match as the 2009-10 Texas Lutheran Athletics Honorary Coach.

The American Southwest Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held its annual meeting on Monday (Sept. 21) at the Holiday Inn Select-North Dallas hotel. Each of the ASC’s 15 member institutions were represented with at least one advisor and two student-athletes.
TLU women's volleyball player Jamie Jahns handled vice-chair duties at the meeting.

The American Southwest Conference has partnered with Clear Marketing Concepts in developing a weekly online video production that will highlight student-athletes, coaches, member institutions, games and academics. The show about the 15-member NCAA Division III-affiliated athletic conference will be called ASC All Access and produced every Wednesday throughout the academic year. ASC All Access debuted on Sept. 16. ASC All Access can be viewed by logging onto www.ASCsports.org/AllAccess or through any of the ASC’s 15 member institutions’ athletic websites.

Texas Lutheran University was voted by its peers as the inaugural winner of the American Southwest Conference Sports Information Department of the Year award for the 2008-09 academic season. TLU was honored on Monday (Aug. 4) during the annual ASC SID meeting in Dallas.

Senior baseball player Kyle Harvey and senior softball player Natalie Suciu are the 2008-09 Texas Lutheran Athletics Sportsmanship award winners after a vote of TLU head coaches.

Texas Lutheran freshman pitcher/designated player Brigitte Neumann led a group of six Bulldogs onto the American Southwest Conference All-West Division squads, released Tuesday after a vote of the division coaches.

The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs collected a softball split Saturday in American Southwest Conference play against Schreiner University. TLU took game one 4-1 and lost game two 13-0 in Kerrville, Texas.

The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs dropped both ends of a conference doubleheader to Schreiner on Friday evening. Schreiner secured 9-2 and 4-1 wins over the Bulldogs.

Monday at Morck Field, the Texas Lutheran softball team closed out the final home doubleheader of 2009 by sweeping a pair of games from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
TLU won 3-0 in the early game and capped the doubleheader with a 9-3 victory.

The Texas Lutheran softball team plays its final two home games of the 2009 season with a Monday doubleheader against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Game one of the twin bill is set for a 1 p.m. start at TLU's Morck Field. UMHB won both games of Sunday's doubleheader.
TLU will have live stats and live audio broadcasts of both games Monday.

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor recorded 11-3 and 16-10 softball victories over Texas Lutheran on Sunday afternoon at TLU’s Morck Field.
The Crusaders improved to 19-15 overall and to 12-6 in the American Southwest Conference West Division.
TLU dropped its 13th and 14th consecutive games and fell to 9-23 overall and to 4-14 in the ASC West Division.

Inclement weather in the Seguin area has moved the Texas Lutheran/Mary Hardin-Baylor softball series to Sunday and Monday at TLU's Morck Field in Seguin, Texas. The four-game series originally was set for Friday and Saturday, also at Morck Field.
Now, Sunday's doubleheader is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start, and Monday's doubleheader is set for a 1 p.m. start.
TLU will provide live audio webcasts and live stats for all four games of this American Southwest Conference softball series. The audio webcasts and live stats can be found at www.tlu.edu/athletics.
TLU enters the series with an overall mark of 9-21 and an ASC West record of 4-12. UMHB is 17-15 overall and 10-6 in the ASC.

The Texas Lutheran – Concordia Texas softball doubleheader on Friday has been moved to a 2 p.m. start at TLU’s Morck Field. The doubleheader was originally scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Saturday’s doubleheader between TLU and CTX still is set for a 1 p.m. start at Morck Field.
TLU will have live audio webcasts for all four games from www.tlu.edu/athletics. Live stats will be available for Saturday’s doubleheader.

The Texas Lutheran / Hardin-Simmons softball series in Abilene, Texas has been delayed one day because of inclement weather. The series now will start Saturday with a 2 p.m. doubleheader. The series will conclude on Sunday with another 2 p.m. doubleheader. Hardin-Simmons will have live stats for all four games of the series. The Texas Lutheran softball team looks to extend its four-game win streak in a non-conference doubleheader at 1 p.m. Thursday against Benedictine College (Kan.). The Bulldgos are 8-6 overall and 4-0 in the American Southwest Conference. The Ravens are 9-7 coming off a doubleheader sweep Wednesday of Trinity.

Brigitte Neumann tossed the eighth no-hitter in Texas Lutheran softball history in game two of a doubleheader sweep Monday of Sul Ross State.
At TLU’s Morck Field, TLU won 14-6 in game one and 11-0 in game two as Neumann tossed her gem. Both games ended in the fifth inning because of the 8-run rule.

TLU defeated LeTourneau 8-5 and lost to East Texas Baptist 9-0 (in five innings).

The Texas Lutheran softball team returns to Morck Field after a 12-day layoff to face Trinity University in a noon doubleheader today (Wednesday). The Bulldogs (1-1) and the Tigers (1-5) will play against each other for the the 47th and 48th times in their respective softball histories. The Bulldogs hold a 32-14 edge in the all-time series. The teams split a doubleheader at Trinity in 2008.
