The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs opened the 2010 baseball season with 14-4 and 8-1 victories over Austin College on Saturday afternoon. TLU (2-0) received strong pitching performances from Brad Orosey (game 1) and Jeremiah Steinert (game 2). Orosey, a Preseason First Team All-American, struck out seven and walked just one in five innings of work. The sophomore right-hander moved to 1-0. Steinert (1-0) pitched a complete game and allowed only three hits and one earned run. The senior right-hander struck out three and did not walk a batter.

Howard Payne hit six of its seven shots, including two three-pointers, in overtime and survived a furious second-half rally by Texas Lutheran to post a 101-93 win Saturday.
