Texas Lutheran senior middle blocker Jamie Jahns received Honorable Mention on the 2009 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III All-South Region Team.

Texas Lutheran University middle blocker Jamie Jahns and outside hitter Jessica Stetler each were named to the 2009 American Southwest Conference All-Conference Team.

Jahns and Stetler are repeat honorees on the All-ASC Team. For Jahns, 2009 is the third consecutive year that she has appeared on the All-ASC squad.

The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs (20-10) ended their 2009 season with a three-game loss in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament semifinal match against University of Texas-Dallas.

The Bulldogs opened the tournament Friday afternoon with a three-game win over Mississippi College.

Texas Lutheran Bulldog greats Richard Miller (football), Lili Torres-Ramirez (women’s tennis), Aaron Merhoff (baseball), Craig Saunders (men’s basketball) and Madeline Klasing Williams (women’s volleyball) will be inducted into the Texas Lutheran Athletics Hall of Fame during TLU Homecoming ceremonies this weekend.

TLU also will recognize its Athletics Leadership Wall of Honor Class of 2009. This year’s inductees are the Honorable Edmund Kuempel and Ken and Linda Voges.

The Texas Lutheran women's volleyball team posted a 1-1 record at the Southwestern Halloween Tournament on Saturday with a win over Austin College and a loss to host Southwestern.

Playing in her final collegiate match on Susan Duke Court in Tostengard Activity Center, Texas Lutheran senior middle blocker Jamie Jahns produced the third-best, single-match attack percentage in school history.

Live video and live stats will be available for tonight's American Southwest Conference volleyball match-up between Texas Lutheran and Concordia Texas. TLU (18-7 overall, 13-4 ASC West) can clinch the No. 2 seed from the ASC West with a win tonight over the Tornados.

Tonight's match is also the final home match for TLU seniors Amanda Curry and Jamie Jahns.

The Texas Lutheran women’s volleyball team concluded a 2-1 run at the second American Southwest Conference Cross Division Tournament with a four-game win Saturday over LeTourneau University.

At Sul Ross State’s Gallego Center, TLU defeated LeTourneau 26-28, 25-13, 25-14, 25-9.

The Texas Lutheran women’s volleyball team defeated the University of Texas at Tyler in five games and dropped a three-game decision to No. 12 University of Texas at Dallas on Friday during the year’s second round of American Southwest Conference cross-division matches.

Texas Lutheran received 19 kills each from senior Jamie Jahns and junior Jessica Stetler as the Bulldogs defeated Howard Payne in four games Tuesday at TLU’s Tostengard Activity Center.

Texas Lutheran will have live video for tonight's women's volleyball match against Howard Payne University. The American Southwest Conference match is set for a 6 p.m. start in TLU's Tostengard Activity Center.

The Bulldogs (12-5, 9-3) sit a half-game out of first place in the ASC West Division. HPU (7-11, 5-5) is in fifth place in the division. TLU swept a three-game match from the Yellow Jackets back on Sept. 29.

The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs rebounded from its first American Southwest Conference loss (on Friday) with two conference victories Saturday in ASC cross-division play.

The Bulldogs defeated Mary Hardin-Baylor 25-20, 24-26, 18-25, 25-19, 15-11 and defeated Mississippi College 15-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-19.

The American Southwest Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held its annual meeting on Monday (Sept. 21) at the Holiday Inn Select-North Dallas hotel. Each of the ASC’s 15 member institutions were represented with at least one advisor and two student-athletes.

TLU women's volleyball player Jamie Jahns handled vice-chair duties at the meeting.

After three wins to open American Southwest Conference West Division play, the Bulldogs go for a 4-0 start Tuesday with a visit to Concordia Texas. The match is set for a 6 p.m. start.

The American Southwest Conference has partnered with Clear Marketing Concepts in developing a weekly online video production that will highlight student-athletes, coaches, member institutions, games and academics. The show about the 15-member NCAA Division III-affiliated athletic conference will be called ASC All Access and produced every Wednesday throughout the academic year. ASC All Access debuted on Sept. 16.

ASC All Access can be viewed by logging onto www.ASCsports.org/AllAccess or through any of the ASC’s 15 member institutions’ athletic websites.

Fresh off a 3-1 performance at the Pacific Coast Classic, the Bulldogs face a Southwestern squad (2-3) that advanced to the NCAA DIII regional finals in 2008.

The Texas Lutheran women’s volleyball team pushed 2008 NCAA Division III runner-up La Verne, the current No.-3 ranked team in DIII, to five games Saturday at the Pacific Coast Classic. TLU finished 3-1 at the tournament, hosted by Pomona-Pitzer Colleges. TLU defeated Pomona-Pitzer earlier on Saturday.

The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs are 2-0 after day one of the Pacific Coast Classic volleyball tournament in Claremont, Calif. The Bulldogs survived a late-night match at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, defeating CMS in five games by a count of 25-21, 26-24, 17-25, 9-25, 15-10.

Bulldogs defeated Chapman (Calif.) in three games earlier in the day. Bulldogs play No. 3-ranked La Verne (Calif.) and host Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.

The Texas Lutheran women’s volleyball team opened its 2009 season in convincing fashion Friday afternoon with a 25-18, 25-14, 25-18 win over Chapman University (Calif.).

TLU plays again tonight in the Pacific Coast Classic in Claremont, Calif. The Bulldogs are set to play Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 8:30 pm. central (6:30 p.m. pacific).

Texas Lutheran University was voted by its peers as the inaugural winner of the American Southwest Conference Sports Information Department of the Year award for the 2008-09 academic season. TLU was honored on Monday (Aug. 4) during the annual ASC SID meeting in Dallas.
