Official announcement from Austin Community College:

The Austin Community College District (ACC) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Texas Lutheran University (TLU) in Seguin.

Presidents Dr. Richard Rhodes and Dr. Stuart Dorsey signed an articulation agreement Monday afternoon, August 21, which will provide a seamless transition to eligible students from ACC to TLU upon fulfilling their first two years at ACC.

“More than half of students enrolled at ACC have the intention of earning credits that will transfer,” says Dr. Rhodes, ACC President/CEO. “We believe making it easier for them to transfer to a four-year university without losing the credits they worked hard to acquire is important to the completion of their baccalaureate degrees.”

TLU Theology major Billy Wayne Roy '17 benefited from four semesters at ACC to get the tools needed to excel in his studies.

“At ACC I was able to complete my basic education requirements and TLU provided an energetic learning environment where I could further explore my field of interest,” Roy says.

TLU is committed to helping students continue on their college path, particularly in Liberal Arts, Sciences and Professional Studies in a diverse atmosphere.

“TLU is very excited about our new agreement with ACC and believe it represents the best in public-private, two-year/four-year partnerships,” says Dr. Debbie Cottrell, TLU vice president of academic affairs. “The potential is very strong for this working relationship to broaden our opportunities with Austin-area students, and we look forward to seeing those students become part of the TLU community.”

ACC has articulation agreements with 58 universities, including The University of Texas, Texas State University, and Texas A&M University.
