Texas Lutheran University (TLU) announced today that Thomas J. Oliver has been named Vice President for Enrollment Services. Oliver has served as Vice President for Enrollment Services at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, since 2004.
“Tom’s experience in admissions and financial aid, and knowledge of independent higher education in Texas, will be a tremendous asset to TLU and he will bring an informed strategic perspective to our enrollment effort,” said Dr. Stuart Dorsey, President-Elect of TLU. “Being located in one of the fastest growing areas in the U.S., coupled with our commitment to creating student success, gives us an opportunity to achieve strategic growth, while serving an increasingly diverse population. Tom’s leadership will be a great asset in securing the University’s future as we begin an aggressive campaign of expanding TLU’s enrollment, reach and recognition of one of the finest colleges in Texas.”
“As a liberal arts graduate, I believe our society needs thinkers who can step outside of their disciplines to pull from a vast body of knowledge to solve the world’s problems. A liberal arts and sciences education is ideally suited for tomorrow’s leaders who will enter into a world where change is the only constant,” said Oliver. “TLU has a long history of preparing young men and women for such challenges, and I look forward to recruiting students who seek a quality education where they discover their life’s passion can meet the world’s greatest needs.”
