TLU and i3 Partner to Offer 4-year Aviation Degrees

April 29, 2011

Texas Lutheran University (TLU) and Integration Innovation, Inc., (i3) have partnered to offer the only four-year baccalaureate degrees in aviation within 300 miles of San Antonio that begin and end at the same institution. Many aviation programs have dual enrollments or they are streamlined, offering only a business track or an air traffic control track. Beginning in fall 2011, TLU's program will offer a broad range of aviation training from flight training to aviation business management with all classes offered at TLU and flight training offered at New Braunfels Municipal Airport.

“Graduates with four-year degrees in aviation management and aeronautical science are highly sought after because they are able to demonstrate success in multiple areas of the aeronautical industry,” said Dr. Robert Vogel, TLU’s Interim President. “Our highly qualified faculty, coupled with i3’s seasoned flight instructors, offer an outstanding and comprehensive learning experience to students interested in a career in aviation.”

“TLU’s Aviation Program will fill a significant void in aviation education in Texas,” said Mike Wicks, i3’s CEO. “Most Texas students seeking a four-year aviation degree are required to start at a 2-year school then transfer to a four-year university to complete their degree. We are honored to team with TLU to provide this opportunity for Texas and the aviation community.”

In addition to announcing TLU’s new aviation program, i3 is unveiling the Stinson Flight Training Center as the newest Cessna Pilot Center, located at Stinson Municipal Airport in San Antonio. CPCs are flight training affiliates that use the new Cessna Flight Training System and Cessna aircraft and offer customers an array of services including flight training.
