Texas Lutheran University Named a 2018 Great Colleges to Work For®

For the seventh consecutive year, Texas Lutheran University (TLU) is one of the nation’s great colleges to work for according to a survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education.The Chronicle’s survey is the largest and most comprehensive workplace study in higher education, recognizing the colleges that get top ratings from their employees on workforce practices and policies.
Of those 253 institutions that participated, 84 were recognized as a 2017 “Great College to Work For” and only 43 were selected for the Honor Roll, including TLU.Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with TLU included among the small universities with 2,999 students or fewer.
As the nation’s premier source of news about colleges and universities, The Chronicle recognizes the outstanding workplace and innovative educational experiences of the institutions selected in the Great Colleges program.
This year, TLU won honors in six categories including Collaborative Governance, Confidence in Senior Leadership, Professional/Career Development Programs, Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship, Teaching Environment (Faculty Only), and Tenure Clarity and Process (Faculty Only/4-year Only).
“To receive this accolade again for the seventh consecutive year truly speaks to the strength of our campus community,” said TLU President Dr. Stuart Dorsey. “TLU faculty and staff not only enjoy working here, they understand the direct impact they’re having on the lives of students. It’s evident that a great place to work makes for a great place to attend college.”
