In 2011, TLU embarked on an ambitious fundraising initiative to position the university and students for success. Under the leadership of former President Dr. Stuart Dorsey, the Office of Development engaged with alumni and friends who could help invest in the Ignite. Inspire. Impact. campaign with the goal of raising more than $75 million for facilities, academic programs, endowments, and annual scholarships. Through the financial generosity of more than 7,000 donors, the university ended the campaign one year ahead of schedule, with the recent retirement of President Dorsey and a total of $75.6 million raised.

Current President Dr. Debbie Cottrell says the campaign’s completion is a historic moment and shows how alumni and donors stepped up to support TLU in a truly impactful way.

“The impact of the $75.6 million raised touches all aspects of our campus—facilities such as the Weston Center for the Performing Arts, scholarships for our students, support for a variety of academic and athletic programs, and endowment support that ensures long-term stability and growth for TLU,” Dr. Cottrell said. “The momentum generated by this campaign positions us to further our growth and visibility and to deliver on our commitment to serve our students well, now and in the future. I am tremendously proud of our Development team, and appreciate the focus, energy, and leadership they provided to ensure the success of this campaign. I’m also deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the campaign.”

It’s obvious we have amazing alumni and donors who truly believe in the university’s mission, and we are forever thankful.”
