Classical Music Library: Purchasing and Downloading Tracks

Register

  1. Navigate to Library Home Page > Databases by Subject > Music & Music Education > Classical Music Library
  2. From a wireless PC or from off-campus, you will be prompted to log on with your LAST name and TLU ID.
  3. Click Register and follow the prompts to create a username and password for yourself. Once you do this, you will be able to Login with the username and password you create.
  4. After you click "Join," you will be able to click "Login now." Your login will be your email address, and your password is whatever you create.

Purchasing Tracks

  1. At the Login screen, login with the username and password you used to register. Click "Search" to search for a composition by composer, by title, or by genre, for example.
  2. Some recordings cannot be downloaded because of copyright restrictions. You will know that a piece can't be downloaded because the Download column is blank.
  3. Recordings that can be downloaded have an arror and the cost in the Download column.
  4. To download and purchase a pice, click the down arrow.
  5. A window appears, asking you to click "confirm" if you really mean to add the item to your shopping basket.
  6. When you click "confirm," a window appears, giving you another opportunity to "close" or click "My Basket" to buy the track.
  7. Another window appears, giving you another opportunity to "Empty basket" or click "Secure checkout" to buy the track.
  8. After clicking "Secure checkout," you will be prompted to enter your billing address [the address that is associated with your credit care]. Once you enter the address, you are given another opportunity to "remove" any tracks you do not want to download.
  9. But, when you proceed, you are taken to a Secure Payment Page, where you can select the kind of credit card you wll be using.
  10. When you follow the prompt, you are presented with a page where you must supply your credit card information and the cardholder's information that is associated with the credit card being used.
  11. You are given one last chance to change your mind.
  12. When you click "Make Payment," you are again given the change to cancel or purchase.
  13. When you confirm payment, you are given a message that your tracks have been added to the "downloads" section of "My Account."

Download Purchased Tracks

  1. To download and save the tracks to your PC, you must be logged in with the username and password you created. Click "My Downloads." You will be presented with the tracks you have purchased, which can now be downloaded.
  2. To download a track to a university PC, create a folder on your "Y" drive where you want your music to reside. If it's your personal PC, create a folder and make a note of the path.
  3. Click the Down Arrow beside the track you want to download.
  4. A screen will appear asking you to choose the format you wish to download.
  5. University PCs have Windows XP, which includes Windows Media, so for this, you should click the RIGHT button.
  6. Click "Save" when asked, "Do you want to open or save this file?"
  7. Browse to the folder you have created for your music downloads. Create a folder, for example, in My Documents\JaneDoe\Classical Music Library\downloads, for example.
  8. Highlight the folder on your PC where you want your music to reside, then click SAVE.
  9. The file will begin to download.
  10. When the download is complete, you'll be prompted to Open Folder.
  11. Click Open Folder.
  12. Highlight, then double-click the piece you want to listen to.
  13. On university PCs, Windows Media Player will then begin playing the piece from your PC.

Alternate Method for Your iPOD or MP3 Player


Copy the tracks from your PC to your iPOD or MP3 Player, or, download them directly from Classical Music Library to your iPOD or MP3.
