Between Sessions and Student Holidays – A library calendar will be posted in advance of student holidays, breaks, and periods between sessions. In general, the library is closed whenever classes are not in session. However, an effort is made to offer some open hours during breaks in order to facilitate students and faculty who need to access library materials for their work. The library resumes late hours (usually until 10:00 PM) the first day of class each session and the night before classes resume following breaks.
  • Users Served

All current students in good standing are granted full library privileges. Current faculty, staff, and their immediate families are also granted full privileges. The library is open to the general public; adult non-university users may purchase restricted library cards; however, non-university persons are governed by the same Computer Use standards by which university-affiliated patrons are governed. Students of TexShare-affiliated colleges and universities may obtain a TexShare borrowing card from their home institution for use at Blumberg Memorial Library. Juveniles (high school students or younger) may not check out library materials. Juveniles of middle school level and below must be accompanied by an adult when using the library, but the juvenile dependents of TLU faculty and staff are an exception to this policy. Juvenile dependents must be prepared to show a current TLU activity card. Senior high school students should be prepared to show school identification or a current TLU activity card. Parents or guardians of juvenile library users should be aware that TLU does not employ any kind of Internet filtering devices on university computers. Therefore, juveniles should be closely supervised by a parent or guardian while present in the library
