Part-Time Position in Composition Texas Lutheran University seeks a part-time faculty member to teach in the Composition program starting in fall 2009. Duties including teaching courses in composition that focus on rhetoric and academic reading and writing skills. Additional duties include holding office hours and participating in meetings and training.
Requirements: Master's degree in English or related liberal arts field, and college level teaching experience.

Phonathon and Events Manager. Responsibilities of this position include planning, managing, and evaluating the annual phonathon and selected alumni events; and providing assistance to the director of the annual fund and the director of alumni relations.

Development Officer Texas Lutheran University invites applications for the position of
Development Officer. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Development, the Development Officer serves as the personal ambassador of the university, the president, and the Board of Regents. Responsibility is to both the organization and the donor. Primary responsibility is to cultivate and solicit Texas Lutheran supporters through personal and event contacts. The specific objective is to raise major gift dollars to grow the permanent endowment of the college, provide facilities to further enhance educational opportunities for students and to support programmatic initiatives to further support the academic quality of the university.
Position requirements include: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- At least five years fundraising experience
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; ability to listen well
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; creativity
- Ability to facilitate meetings and groups and speak in public
- Willingness to travel and to work weekends and evenings
- A high degree of judgment to make decisions for which there is little precedent
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality
- Understanding of and appreciation for the mission of a church-related university

Area Coordinator/Summer Programs Texas Lutheran University invites applications for the position of
Area Coordinator/Summer Programs in the Residence Life and University Relations Departments. This is a 9 month Residence Life position and 3 month Summer Programs position. The Area Coordinator will provide educational, social, and community development programming; supervise paraprofessional Resident Assistants; adjudicate student conduct cases; oversee apartment style buildings housing 175-300 students; maintain occupancy records, facility reports, area budget, and other housing information; assist with paraprofessional staff selection, training, and evaluation; assist with housing contracts and assignments; and serve as a primary resource and advisor for students. The Summer Programs portion will consist of supervising day to day activities of staff, liaison with summer clients, assist in hiring, training, scheduling staff and serve in an on call roll.
Position requirements include: - Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred
- A minimum of 1 year experience in residence life and housing at a college or university, to include a combination of programming, supervision, student conduct, and mediation
- At least one year of related experience in summer conference events
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated programming ability and leadership
- General computer competency
- Understanding of and appreciation for the mission of a church-related university
- Live on campus: Apartment, utilities, telephone, cable, internet access, and meal plan are provided
