Ignite. Inspire. Impact. Campaign

Texas Lutheran University launched a $75 million comprehensive campaign – the largest in school history. The “Ignite. Inspire. Impact.” Campaign celebrates the many alumni, friends, and donors who have made a significant impact on the university through their generous support and have paved the way for a new era of growth.

The campaign has included large-scale projects and new academic programs that have significantly enhanced the appearance of the campus as well as the academic and residential experience for students. Since 2011, Centennial Hall, a freshmen residence hall and living-learning community opened; Bulldog Stadium was constructed and for the first time in TLU’s history, football games and track and field events were held on campus; and most recently, the Caroline Weston Center for the Performing Arts opened with a new Studio Theatre and a new School of Music building.

During this time, new academic programs such as Biochemistry, Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship, Integrated Science, and Nursing (BSN) were added. The university also created its first-ever, five-year master’s programs in accounting, data analytics, and athletic training. According to President Dorsey, the addition of these new academic programs has paid off. At TLU’s May commencement, one-third of graduates received degrees that did not exist six years ago.

The impact has also been seen on the enrollment side. For the first time since 2006, TLU has experienced year-over-year enrollment growth with the largest first-year class in the school’s history for fall 2017 and record full-time enrollment for fall 2018. To support these students, 94 new endowed scholarships were added, 1,513 endowed scholarships have been distributed, and 281 study abroad scholarships were awarded since 2011 thanks to the generous support of many donors.
