Texas Lutheran University's Center for Professional Development is approved as a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Provider for the State of Texas. The CPE # for TLU-CPD is #501514.

To renew standard classroom teacher certificates, Texas educators need to complete 150 clock hours of continuing professional education (CPE) units during the five-year credential period. Educators holding  all other classes of certificates need 200 clock hours of CPE units.

In accordance with Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Rule §232.872, TLU maintains a list of CPE activities that includes the following:  a list of attendees, the date and content of the activity, and the number of clock hours that count toward satisfying CPE requirements.  At the conclusion of each activity, TLU gives each educator a certificate that lists TLU as the sponsor, TLU's CPE  number, the educator’s name, the date and content of the activity, and the number of clock hours that count toward satisfying CPE requirements.

The Center offers CPE through other department across the University as well as courses offered through the Center.
