TUITION, REIMBURSEMENTS, AND OTHER COSTS
- Tuition is $1175 for participants staying with a family in Taxco and $1275 for participants staying at the hotel in Taxco.
TEA will continue to fund teacher training reimbursements of up to $450 per teacher who completes a 30-hour AP institute approved by TEA or an official IBO teacher training workshop. Teachers are eligible for this reimbursement biennially (every other school year). Teachers eligible for teacher training reimbursements include those who teach AP or IB courses at any grade level, as well as teachers of Grades 6 - 11 who teach a course that meets the following criteria:
Goes beyond the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in depth and complexity
Is appropriately rigorous to prepare students to be successful in AP or IB courses
Is part of a vertical system of courses that ends with a specific AP or IB course (i.e., a Pre-AP English course that leads directly to AP Language and Composition)
In an effort to expand the number of Texas teachers who have access to this training, reimbursement will only be available to any individual teacher every other year. Beginning with the transition year of 2008, teachers are only eligible for reimbursement every other year.
Teachers whose training was reimbursed in 2008 should not apply for TTR in 2009.
- Other state departments of education also fund participants with prior approval. Please consult your state’s department of education information.
- Other Costs
- A $50 late enrollment fee will be charged for enrollment requests received after May 29, 2009.
- A $50 fee will be charged for each change made after May 29, 2009. Changes include, but are not limited to, name changes, course changes, and substituting participants.
- Requests for cancellations made before May 29, 2009, will incur a $50 processing fee. Cancellations after May 29 and “no shows” must pay the full amount of tuition.
- All changes must be sent in writing via fax, e-mail, or US mail before the deadlines listed above. No telephone changes will be accepted.
- If a session must be canceled, registrants will be notified as soon as possible, and a full refund will be issued if the registrant does not choose to attend an alternate session.
