Financial Aid for Post-baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program
Students enrolled in the Post-baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program are eligible for student loans only. In most cases, the amount that the student can borrow includes the cost of the course plus books and fees.
There are two loan programs available to Post-baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program students: Federal Stafford Loan and Sallie Mae Signature Loan.
Federal Stafford Loan

Loan limit is $5500

Student must be enrolled at least six credit hours per semester to be eligible for this program. Students who are taking one class and participating in an internship or who are taking a content area class in addition to an education class or internship will qualify.

Student cannot be in default on a previous Stafford or Perkins loan.

Student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Please be sure to enter TLU’s school code: 003641.

Loan is disbursed in two installments – ½ fall and ½ spring.

Before the loan is processed, the student must complete the Stafford Master Promissory Note (MPN) and entrance counseling.
Sallie Mae Signature Loan

The amount the student can borrow is limited to cost of the program.

Students enrolled less than half-time may qualify.

Loan is disbursed in two installments – ½ fall and ½ spring.
