Financing Your Continuing Education Program
Programs for Academic University Credit
If you enroll in a program through the Center for Professional Development for academic university credit, you may be eligible for a student loan through Texas Lutheran University. In most cases, the amount that the student can borrow includes the cost of the courses plus books and fees. For example, there are two loan programs available to Post-baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program students through TLU: Federal Stafford Loan and Sallie Mae Signature Loan. For information about these program, go to Financial Aid - Loans for Post-baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program.
Non-credit Continuing Education Courses and Programs
If you enroll in a program through the Center for Professional Development that does not award academic university credit, you are eligible to apply for a loan through one or more sources depending on the program or course.
Wells Fargo Bank offers a private loan for students seeking training, a certificate or license, or a degree. You can qualify for this loan even if you’re enrolled less than half-time.
Students enrolled in an online certificate program with our partner, Gatlin, may apply for a loan program. Gatlin understands paying for career training while working or switching careers can be a real challenge. Gatlin offers direct financing with a very low down payment for our career training programs. Our loan rates are the lowest in the industry and our application process is quick and easy.
