Research

& Faculty-Student Collaboration

Collaborative summer research, 2010: “Use of Maple+ Iterative methods to Biological Processes,” with Ryan Michaels Math/Computer Science double major who is currently working on a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of North Texas.

Collaborative summer research, 2012: “Benford’s Law and its Applications to Beta-decay,” with Wako Tasisa Bungula who presented his paper in Alpha Chi's Convention in Baltimore in 2012. He is currently working on his Ph.D. in computational mathematics at the University of Iowa.

Collaborative summer research, 2012: “Investigating free open-source online Mathematics/Statistics software:SAGE and WOLFRAM-ALPHA,” with Allison Clark. She graduated in May 2014 with a math (pre-actuarial) degree and has accepted a position with USAA in San Antonio.

Faculty Research

In the past 5 years, conducted research in the areas of use of technology in mathematics, inverted classrooms and Iterative methods which led to more than 24 presentations and publications.
