  • Course development grant received to develop "Spanish for the Health Professionals" - Spring 2014 
  • Traveled to Mexico and performed field observations at one public hospital and two smaller health clinics, collected authentic health related materials to be used in class - Summer 2014
  • Studying medical and legal interpretation via an online program offered by the University of Arizona - current

Faculty/Student Collaboration

  • Supervised a student capstone research project about the "digital divide" in the Hispanic community, which was a comparison of computer/internet accessibility and literacy between Hispanic and non-Hispanic communities.
  • Traveled with Dr. Ana Maria Gonzalez and a group of TLU students to Honduras and volunteered as an interpreter for the veterinary team - Summer 2013
