Her passion is to foster confidence and strength in young college students, which she has done through the formation of The Black & Gold President’s Council. The B&G council, now in its third year, was inspired by her mother’s encouraging nature and her personal desire to help students feel at ease interacting with different people in social situations. From etiquette to wardrobe, students who serve on the B&G council develop social leadership thanks to Michelle Dorsey.
In addition to her ongoing involvement with TLU students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends and donors, she is a task force member on the Council of Independent Colleges, a member of the Seguin ISD School Health Advisory Council and serves on the City of Seguin Main Street Advisory Board.
