Congregational Advocate Program
TLU Congregational Advocates help build and maintain a strong, positive relationship between TLU and the advocates' home congregations in a number of ways, including:
- Disseminating TLU literature and information in the congregation
- Arranging for Dr. Moline and other TLU representatives, including student worship leaders, to preach, give temple talks, and speak with adult and high school Sunday School classes
- Inviting TLU music groups to perform
- Encouraging the congregation to participate in the TLU CAP (Congregational Aid Program) and/or include a contribution to TLU's Advancement Fund in the congregation's annual budget
- Encouraging members of the congregation to visit the campus for special events such as Christmas Vespers and Church Youth Day
- Identifying TLU alumni, parents, and friends in the congregation and creating social and networking opportunities
- Referring prospective students to the TLU Enrollment Services Office
- Referring prospective donors to the TLU Development Office
Through these and other means, members of the congregations become more aware of and connected to TLU. It is hoped that the Congregational Advocate Program will generate increased support of TLU by our Lutheran congregations.
