Professors Present at American Association of Colleges of Nursing Faculty Conference
November 29, 2016
Dr. Whitney Bischoff (left) and Dr. Amy Long (right) recently presented a poster about undergraduate research in nursing at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Faculty Conference in Anaheim, California. As part of the N344 Nursing Research class, TLU nursing students work in teams to plan and conduct their own research project in just four semesters while Dr. Bischoff and Dr. Long mentor the students throughout the process. Once the groups have their research topic approved by a TLU review board committee, they collect and analyze data and work toward a finished study and poster presentation at the TLU Student Academic Symposium in the spring of their senior year. Research topics have included: "Concussion Knowledge Among Parents and School Staff," "Preoperative Anxiety in Parents of Children Undergoing Routine Surgery," "Culturally Sensitive Education Among Low Income Diabetic Patients," and "Medication Label Literacy in Adults."
