LONGVIEW, Texas -- Kaysie Boomhower scored two goals and Sunny Valencia added two assists to lead the Texas Lutheran women's soccer team to a 3-1 road win Friday over LeTourneau University.
Boomhower, a sophomore, scored in the 21st minute to give TLU a 1-0 lead. She scored again in the 87th minute to give TLU the 3-1 advantage. Valencia assisted on the first Boomhower goal. The second Boomhower goal was unassisted.
Valencia assisted on the second TLU goal, recorded by Kristin Meloni in the 23rd minute.
Kirby Posey notched a goal for LeTourneau in the 66th minute.
TLU out-shot LeTourneau 18-15.
TLU goalkeeper Marlena Ashby made seven saves. Briana Redwine had two saves for the YellowJackets.
The Bulldogs moved their overall record to 3-3-2 and their conference mark to 1-1-2.
LeTourneau dropped to 3-6 overall and to 1-4 in the ASC.
TLU continues its ASC road trip with a match at 1 p.m. Saturday against East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.
