ABILENE, Texas – The Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls moved a half-game in front of Texas Lutheran in the ASC West Division volleyball race with a 25-13, 25-21, 25-19 victory over the Bulldogs on Friday.
Madison Reyes and Kaela Parnell combined for 27 kills for Hardin-Simmons (11-5, 8-2 ASC West). Reyes had 14 kills, and Parnell delivered 13. Sam Lucien posted 29 assists, and Gracen Harris recorded 16 digs.
Sarah Black collected seven kills to lead the Bulldogs, who fell to 11-5 overall and to 8-3 in the ASC West. Amanda Cury added six kills, 19 assists, and 11 digs.
TLU and HSU are 1-1 against each other in the ASC regular season. Each team won on its home floor.
TLU fell to 0-2 on its current ASC West road swing. The team lost to McMurry in four games on Thursday night. The Bulldogs conclude the road trip with an 11 a.m. contest at Sul Ross State in Alpine, Texas.
