TLU women's soccer falls to Southwestern 3-0

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern University women’s soccer team defeated the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs 3-0 Tuesday afternoon in Georgetown, Texas.

Andi Miller, Amy Douglas and A.J. Andreola scored for the Pirates (3-0).

Miller scored in the 12th minute on a shot of 35 yards that just cleared the reach of TLU keeper Marlena Ashby.

Douglas added a goal on a penalty kick in the 49th minute.

Andreola made it 3-0 with a shot in the 71st minute. For Andreola, the goal was her fourth of the young season. Danielle Madison assisted on the goal.

TLU dropped to 1-2 with the non-conference loss.

Southwestern out-shot TLU 29-5. Ashby made a career-high 15 saves in goal for TLU.

TLU’s next match is set for 1 p.m. Friday in Kerrville, Texas against Schreiner University. The match is a non-conference match although both teams are members of the American Southwest Conference.

TLU and Schreiner play the conference match at TLU’s Gustafson Field on Sept. 25.
