SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Trinity Tigers put up a goal in each half and edged the Texas Lutheran women’s soccer team 2-0 Tuesday evening at Trinity University.
The match was the season-opener for both teams.
Loar scored in the 21st minute off a feed from Brianna Young, and Gabay put a shot in the next after a pass from Loar.
Trinity out-shot TLU 31-3.
TLU senior goalkeeper Marlena Ashby made 10 saves. Trinity keeper Katie Garrett had one save. The Tigers also recorded a team save.
The TLU women return to action on Sunday with a 2 p.m. home match against Our Lady of the Lake.
