CONCAN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's golf team, propelled by a third-place finish from Angela Aufderhaar, took fifth place Tuesday at the TLU Concan Intercollegiate Classic.
At The Club at Concan, the Bulldogs followed Monday's team score of 372 with a score of 370 on Tuesday.
Aufderhaar (Seguin/Seguin) captured third alone with a two-round score of 162. The junior posted rounds of 78 and 84.
Aufderhaar trailed only Southwestern's Marisa Mauldin and Emily Bartholet, who finished 1-2. Mauldin struggled to an 87 on Tuesday but her 69 on Monday gave her the cushion needed to grab the individual title.
Bartholet posted rounds of 78 and 81 in finishing three shots behind Mauldin.
With Mauldin and Bartholet leading the way, Southwestern ran away with the team title. The Pirates' team score of 649 was 57 shots better than the second-place score of Trinity.
On Tuesday, Trinity's Emma Herzog registered a hole-in-one on hole No. 14. The par 3 measured 137 yards.
Southwestern and Trinity were followed in the team standings by McMurry (729), Mary Hardin-Baylor (737), TLU (742), Texas-Tyler (743), LeTourneau (762), Schreiner (768), and Texas A&M International (954).
TLU's Carly Hansen (Coleraine, Minn./Greenway) also finished in the Top 10. Hansen posted an eighth-place finish with a 78 and an 84.
Meagen Fehlauer (Sidney, Mont./Sidney) and Andrea Fernandez (Hondo/Hondo) placed 34th and 37th for the Bulldogs. Sarah Black (Needville/Needville) finished in 41st.
