KERRVILLE, Texas – Texas Lutheran junior Carly Hansen took third individually at the Schreiner Spring Shootout and led the Bulldogs to a fifth-place team finish Tuesday at Comanche Trace.
Texas Lutheran put together a team score of 372 Tuesday after a 365 on Monday. TLU’s two-day total came to 737.
Hansen (Coleraine, Minn./Greenway) shot a 78 on Monday and an 82 on Tuesday.
Katie Mundey of Western Texas Community College won the tournament with a final score of 150. She shot a pair of 75s.
The Bulldogs placed behind tournament champion Western Texas Community College (649), Northwood (698), Schreiner (705), and McMurry (724).
The Bulldogs finished ahead of Texas A&M International (924) and University of Texas at Brownsville (did not finish).
In addition to Hansen’s third-place finish, the Bulldogs received an 11th-place showing from junior Angela Aufderhaar (Seguin/Seguin), who posted scores of 88 and 83.
First-year player Meagan Fehlauer (Sidney, Mont./Sidney) and newcomer sophomore Sarah Black (Needville/Needville) placed 24th and 29th. Fehlauer carded a 97 and a 98, and Black posted rounds of 102 and 110. Senior Andrea Fernandez (Hondo/Hondo) came home in 30th with rounds of 104 and 109.
TLU returns to action on March 9-10 at the TLU Concan Invitational in Concan, Texas.
