SEGUIN, Texas – Tyler Junior College held off Southwestern on Tuesday for the team title at the TLU Lady Bulldog Fall Classic, and Southwestern’s Marisa Mauldin posted a final round 77 to claim the individual crown.
At Max Starcke Park Municipal Golf Course, Tyler JC received Top 10 performances from Amelie Bernsdorf (3rd), Elizabeth Rosebury (5th) and Jacqueline Lujan (7th).
Southwestern had Top 10 finishers in Mauldin and Kristen Davenport (4th).
Host Texas Lutheran finished in 11th place out of 14 teams. TLU, the defending American Southwest Conference champion, received an outstanding final round from sophomore Angela Aufderhaar (Seguin/Seguin), who posted an 82 in rainy conditions. Aufderhaar had an 84 in Monday’s round.
Carly Hansen (Coleraine, Minn./Greenway) tied for 13th with rounds of 84 and 85.
TLU’s Andrea Ramirez (Hondo/Hondo) and Amy Jones (McCamey/McCamey) finished in 62nd and 68th positions, respectively. Tara Seider (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) had to withdraw in the second round. Seider had a 94 in the opening round.
