RICHARDSON, Texas – Texas Lutheran senior women’s golfer Angela Aufderhaar sits in second-place overall Monday after firing an opening-round 76 at the University of Texas at Dallas Lady Comet Invitational.
At Canyon Creek Country Club, Aufderhaar (Seguin/Seguin) finished at five-over on her round at the par-71, 6,163-yard course. She opened with a 35 on the front nine and finished with a 41 on the back nine.
Erin Perry of Southwestern is the first-round leader. Perry carded a 75. She shot a 38 on the front nine and a 37 on the back nine.
Perry and her Southwestern teammates lead the team race after an opening-round team score of 333.
McMurry and Mary Hardin-Baylor are second and third, respectively, with scores of 337 and 338.
Eight total teams are competing in the invitational tournament.
TLU did not post a team score Monday because it carded only three individual scores. Four individual scores are needed for a full team score. TLU’s Rachel Feller (Austin/Westlake) withdrew from the event.
After Aufderhaar’s 76, the Bulldogs received scores of 95 from Carly Hansen (Coleraine, Minn./Greenway) and 110 from Jessica Villarreal (San Antonio/Stevens).
The UTD Lady Comet Invitational concludes Tuesday with 18 holes of golf.
