SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor shot an opening-round 326 Monday to take a seven-shot lead into Tuesday’s final round of the Texas Lutheran Lady Bulldog Fall Classic.
At Max Starcke Park Municipal Golf Course, the Crusaders put four players in the Top 10 on day one. Courtney Nelson led the way with a 79.
Nelson is two shots off the individual lead, held by TLU’s Angela Aufderhaar. The Bulldog opened her senior year with a 77.
TLU is in sixth place in the team standings. After Aufderhaar’s 77, the Bulldogs received an 84 from Carly Hansen, a 103 from Jessica Villarreal, a 105 from Sarah Black, and a 132 from Rachel Feller.
McMurry sits in second place in the team standings after a 333. Monica Harris is tied for third.
The University of California at Santa Cruz holds third with a 343, and the University of Texas at Brownsville is fourth at 349.
Hardin-Simmons (361), TLU (369), Trinity (383), Texas A&M International (400), and the University of Texas at Dallas (435) round out the field.
