Scott Bigott joins the Texas Lutheran men’s basketball staff for the 2007-08 season. Coach Bigott is the top assistant for Head Coach Tommy Jones. Coach Bigott assists Coach Jones in all facets of the men’s basketball program.
Coach Bigott is a native of Houston and received his undergraduate degree from Houston Baptist University. He has a bachelor’s of science degree in education, history, kinesiology and physiology. He has a master’s of education from the University of Houston with concentrations in sport history, sport psychology, and sport sociology.
Coach Bigott is the son of Wilbert and Jayne Bigott. Coach Bigott is married. He and his wife Tammy have three children – Brittany, 12, Brooke, 7, and Braedon, 3.
Coach Bigott, a point guard in college, played professionally in Europe. He took graduated courses at the University of Heidelberg in 18th/19th Century European History.
Coach Bigott has coached basketball for 15 years (winning over 300 games) and was the head coach at Anderson-Shiro, leading the Owls to the 1996 Class A state championship final. He was named the 1996 Texas High School Coach of the Year.
Coach Bigott has worked as a businessman in three separate businesses. He currently owns his own insurance agency in the Houston area.
