B.J. Griffith
Assistant Baseball Coach

B.J. Griffith joins the Texas Lutheran baseball program for the 2007-08 academic and athletic years. Griffith, a native of Riviera, Texas, comes to TLU from North Dakota State University in Fargo, N.D. He served as an assistant baseball coach and as the recruiting coordinator for the Bison, a NCAA Division I baseball program.

Griffith attended Texas A&M-Kingsville and played baseball for three years for the Javelinas. Griffith lettered three years and advanced to the Lone Star Conference Tournament in 2001. Griffith was a middle infielder.

After his playing days at Texas A&M-Kingsville, Griffith was a graduate assistant with the Javelinas. He then became a full-time assistant at his alma mater.

In 2003, Griffith was a part of the coaching staff that led the Javelinas to the Lone Star Conference Championship.

Griffith attended Riviera Kaufer High School and lettered in four sports at the school. He was a two-time All-State selection and a three-time All-District selection in baseball. He played in the Texas High School All-Stars baseball game at the Ballpark in Arlington. Griffith was also a two-time All-District selection in football and a regional qualifier in track as a sprinter.

Griffith is the son of Billy and Debbie Griffith of Riviera, Texas. He has a brother, Andy, that plays baseball at Cisco Junior College. Andy is a catcher.

B.J. enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time.
