SEGUIN, Texas – The Texas Lutheran baseball team snapped a three-game losing skid by belting four home runs – two by Drew Farr – in a 15-12 win Friday over Mississippi College.
At TLU’s Katt-Isbel Field, Farr (Taylor/Taylor) belted a two-run home run in the first and a three-run shot in the fourth. He now has six home runs in 12 games this year.
Jeremy Macklin (Austin/Bowie/Huston-Tillotson) was 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and a single. He also drove in four runs.
Cody Miller (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) also homered and drove in four runs. Miller hammered a three-run shot in the third inning.
TLU trailed 5-0 after the first half inning but then took a 10-5 lead. Mississippi College tied the game at 12 with a four-run seventh.
Patrick Pederson (Pearland/Pearland) registered the pitching win for TLU. Pederson (1-0) worked the final three innings and allowed just two hits.
Wesley Williams (0-2) took the loss for MC.
The Choctaws fell to 6-4 overall with the non-division loss. TLU moved to 7-5 with the victory.
TLU and MC play a doubleheader Saturday at Katt-Isbel starting at noon.
