Join us as we honor business executive Graham Weston at the eighth annual Excellence in Leadership Dinner.
As a successful entrepreneur and chief executive officer of Rackspace Hosting, Weston is a recognized leader in the technology industry. Rackspace serves more than 14,000 customers in eight data centers located around the world. He became involved with Rackspace in late 1998, when he decided to invest in the start-up company and assist with corporate strategy, marketing and business development.
Weston is also active in real estate and, as CEO of Weston Properties, owns 700,000 square feet of industrial and office properties in Texas, including the Weston Centre in San Antonio's business district. In 1989, he founded Assessment Technologies, an ad valorem tax consulting firm.
The Excellence in Leadership event begins with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. The format for the evening includes a discussion between President Ann W. Svennungson and Graham Weston on the qualities required to lead in today’s business environment.
Income from the event will create the Graham Weston Presidential Award for Leadership Scholarship to assist young leaders attending TLU. The scholarship recipients will engage in co-curricular programs that develop their leadership skills.
Past business, community and civic leaders honored include the late Gen. Robert Herres, Gov. Dolph Briscoe, Edward Whitacre, Nancy Loeffler, Dr. Louis and Katherine “Kip” Zbinden, Judge Nelson and Tracy Wolff and John Montford.
