In-House Programs
A variety of periodic study abroad programs are offered through TLU. These are typically two to four week programs led by a TLU professor. These programs include:
- Dramatic Media 379 - The Arts in Central Europe - $3,780
Program led by - Professor Terry Price
Spend 27 days in the Czech Republic and Poland. An exploration of arts and culture from a Central European perspective. Trips to the theatre, orchestra, ballet, opera, museums and other culturally relevant sites.
- Theology 336 - From Berlin to Budapest:
Reformation and Modern Christian History - $3,550
Program led by - Dr. William Russell
A week in Germany and two weeks in Hungary, focusing on the 16th century Reformation and the "wars of religion" that followed, German pietism and the Enlightenment, the rise of Nazism and the Holocaust, Christianity behind the Iron Curtain and in the post-Soviet era. In Budapest, the group will take a day-cruise up the Danube, help with a week-long service project at the famous Fasor Lutheran Church, tour the U.S. Embassy and much more.
- Education 379 - Study Spanish in Taxco, Mexico - $2,550
Program led by - Dr. Eduardo Torres
Education Majors - Live with a Mexican host family, volunteer in a Mexican public school, study Spanish at the Universidad Nacional Autonóma de México and experience field trips and diverse intercultural activities.
Other Majors - Live with a Mexican host family, study Spanish at Universidad Nacional Autonóma de México and experience field trips and diverse intercultural activities.
- Psychology 379 - Sleeping and Dreaming - $3,840
Program led by - Dr. Michael Czuchry
Three weeks of travel to Vienna, Austria and Budapest, Hungary. Take part in fun excursions to museums, palaces and other points of cultural importance, lecture series and research collaboration with the Psychology Institute at Károli Gáspár University.
All classes consist of Spring 2009 coursework and travel in May and June.
Prices include airfare, medical insurance, housing, admission into group events and some meals.
