Saturday, March 8th, 2008
Texas Lutheran University

The Psychology Department at Texas Lutheran University is proud to announce that submissions for the Psi Chi Southwestern Students of Psychology: Ideas, Data Exchange, and Review (SW SPIDER) Conference are now being accepted! The deadline for submitting papers and posters for consideration is February 20, 2008. We will be informing participants of acceptance or rejection on a “rolling” basis so that individuals will be able to plan for the conference. Papers or posters already accepted for the 2008 Southwestern Psychology conference will be automatically accepted.

The conference will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Texas Lutheran University. The conference is free and a free lunch will be provided. (Click here for maps and directions)

We are accepting conceptual and empirical posters and papers. Students do not need to be Psi Chi members to submit work, and work that is not yet completed (e.g., pilot work) is encouraged.

(Click "submission guidelines" on the side bar to see
how to submit your poster or paper for consideration!)

Even if you do not present at the conference, we encourage students and faculty to attend as we have an exciting group of invited speakers already scheduled to appear (click "schedule of events" on the side bar for a list of presentations and presentation times). (Click "resgister for this free conference" to register for this event).

Highlights of the conference include the following:
  • The keynote speaker is Dr. Bill Buskist, a leading researcher on “master” teachers
  • The conference includes invited speakers from Our Lady of the Lake University, Trinity University, Stephen F. Austin University, Texas Christian University, Texas Woman’s University, Northwest Vista College
  • Conceptual and empirical papers and posters will be accepted
  • The conference is free and a free lunch will be provided
