Music is a vital part of the human experience. It provides the opportunity to create, define, communicate, and, ultimately, add deep meaning to our lives. The study of music at Texas Lutheran University helps students express the otherwise inexpressible.

The inclusion of music in the liberal arts curriculum ensures that all students at Texas Lutheran University will have an opportunity to experience the vital role that music plays in their cultural, aesthetic and religious lives. In that spirit, the School of Music is committed to providing the professional training necessary for those who wish to pursue careers in music and music education, as well as opportunities for students from all majors to enhance their musical education by electing to study music, either from among the academic offerings (music history, literature or theory) or from the performance areas (piano, organ, instrumental, voice, and vocal or instrumental ensembles).
