Dramatic Media Faculty

David Legore David Legore, chair, associate professor; Prof. Legore directs faculty productions and works primarily with student actors, directors and writers.  A 1991 graduate of TLU with a B.A. in economics, Prof. Legore cultivated his passion for theatre as a student actor and director at TLU.  In 1995 he earned his M.F.A. in directing from the University of South Dakota, where he was twice in the regional finals of the Irene Ryan Acting Competition at the American College Theatre Festival.

Believing that performance artists must be entrepreneurial creators and distributors of content, his pedagogy explores the interactions of performance craft, content creation, digital media, and entertainment economics. In support of this scholarship, he has attended conferences and seminars exploring the use of emerging digital technologies for content creation and distribution, including BEA / NAB, SIGGRAPH, and the Digital Media Academy.  While on a recent sabbatical, he produced his original screenplay SILVR BULLETZ, BLAK DUZT, winning a Silver Remi award at the 40th Annual WorldFest International Film Festival in Houston.  He is a member of the Texas Theatre Task Force, a local conservation group working to restore the Texas Theatre in Seguin.


Terry Price Terry Price, assistant professor; bachelor of arts in drama from The University of North Carolina Asheville, master of fine arts in design and technology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Mr. Price serves as faculty designer and teaches courses in theatre design and technology. He has received theatre critics' and national and regional Clio awards for design and art direction.

Mr. Price is listed in "2000 Outstanding Artists and Designers of the 20th Century," "Who's Who in Entertainment" and "Outstanding People of the 21st Century." He is a member of professional associations: IALD, LDI, TETA, FIRT / IFTR, USITT, and SWTA.  He is the former editor of the SWTFA Newsletter.

In addition, Mr. Price has presented several papers at international conferences including ATHE and FIRT / IFTR in Krakow, Poland. He has conducted workshops on DMX control, digital sound editing and computer-aided drafting and design. His book "Stagecraft: Structure, Art and Craft in Theatrical Production" was recently published. He also was cocreator of several theatrical events, including "Finite Earth" and "The Green Pepper Projects" I and II.


Deborah Eckols Deborah Eckols, adjunct instructor; B.A. in Drama Education from Baylor University, Hilberry Fellowship and M.F.A. in Acting from Wayne State University.  Ms. Eckols teaches Dramatic Skills Laboratory and directed TLU’s 2008 production of THE GOOD DOCTOR.  She will direct THE RIMERS OF ELDRITCH in the fall of 2009.

Ms. Eckols is a member of ACTORS’ EQUITY and AFTRA.  She has performed professionally in New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Texas.  Her directing credits include: CHARLEY’S AUNT, THE WINSLOW BOY, STEEL MAGNOLIAS, CHRISTMAS RESERVATIONS, and a production of RADIO GALS named “Best of 1998” by the Houston Chronicle.  Ms. Eckols is also a playwright who has realized two mainstage productions of her play SUMMERHOPE, a comedy with music.

Ms. Eckols is the Executive Director of the Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre in New Braunfels, TX.
