Visual Arts Faculty

T. Paul Hernandez, associate professor; bachelor of fine arts from Louisiana State University, master of fine arts University of Texas at Austin.

Professor Hernandez, a native of Louisiana, is best known for his work in Texas and Louisiana. He has received four Art in Public Places commissions and a National Endowment for the Arts/Mid-American Fellowship in Sculpture. His sculptures depict cross-cultural references, environmental catastrophes and political satire.

Landa King, department chair; associate professor; bachelor of fine arts and master of arts from West Texas A&M University, master of fine arts from University of Texas at San Antonio.

A native of Texas, professor King is recognized for her work with non-traditional black-and-white photography combined with digital imaging and fine art printmaking. Her work with collotype has been cited nationally as imagery with visual sensibilities of ephemerality, androgyny and spirituality.

John Nellermoe
, associate professor; bachelor of arts from Concordia College, master of arts from Wisconsin State University.

A pottery student of Marguerite Wildenhain, professor Nellermoe teaches ceramics, painting and drawing. Much of his recent work reflects intense summer study in master classes at the Santa Fe Art Institute. His work affirms nature as the spiritual essence growing out of identifiable images.
