Graduation Requirements

Below is a synopsis of the graduation requirements for those entering Entering Fall 2005 and After.

All Bachelor's Degrees

General Requirements for Graduation:
Coursework in five areas is required. Below are areas and approximate amounts:

	Foundations of Liberal Education	12 semester hours
	The Major	24-60* semester hours
	Supporting Courses	0-42* semester hours
	Dimensions of Liberal Education	36 semester hours
	Electives	0-25 semester hours

• Minimum of 124 semester hours
• Minimum of 30 upper division semester hours
• Minimum grade point average of 2.0 for ALL courses in area of major 12 of these hours must be upper division hours; at least nine must have been taken at TLU
• Minimum of 33 semester hours earned at TLU, including final 24 hours
• Minimum GPA of “C” (2.0) for all courses taken at TLU
• Maximum of four semester hours in band, choir, and/or dramatic media may be applied to graduation

Bachelor of Arts Degree

The specific requirements of individual majors leading to the Bachelor of Arts degree vary widely. As a rule, however, majors leading to the B.A. fit the following parameters:

• 24 to 54 semester hours of coursework within the major
• 6 to 42 semester hours in supporting courses
• Meet all general bachelor’s degree requirements for graduation

Bachelor of Music Degree

Majors leading to the bachelor of music degree must meet the following semester hour requirements in successful coursework:

• 60 semester hours in coursework within the major
• No additional supporting courses are required
• Meet all general bachelor’s degree requirements for graduation

Bachelor of Science Degree

Students who choose accounting, biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics or psychology as their area of major study may earn the B.S. degree. Students must meet the following requirement in successful coursework:

• 34 to 45 semester hours in coursework within major
• student must complete between 24 and 30 semesters hours in supporting courses.
• Meet all general bachelor’s degree requirements for graduation

Bachelor of Business Administration Degree

The bachelor of business administration degree may be earned only by students majoring in business administration with a specialization in one of six areas:

• 45 to 51 hours in coursework within the major
• 24 hours in supporting courses
• Meet all general bachelor’s degree requirements for graduation
